Amanda Brugel

(February 27 2010 - Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a sleepy community on that part of the island of Montreal called"the West Island. Many people who don't know about the place mistakenly think that it is the West Island extends westward from Montreal. Actually, this is not the case. West Island includes everything westward from that city Lachine. Amanda Brugel was born there however her stay was not long in the city. Brugel developed on Courtice located just outside Oshawa located in Ontario. Her first ambition was to be a dancer. Then, a growth rate increased her height and she outgrew every dance partner she had. In an article written by The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall and wears heels. As I got bigger than my male dancers, I decided to quit. Brugel was one of many former dancers who shifted to acting. Her high school teacher school was what pushed her in the right direction. The teacher suggested she try getting a part in the school's annual production. She was able to audition and be cast in the role of Anne of Green Gables. She was given the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to attend York University's Theatre Program and graduated from the program in 2000, earning a Bachelor's of Fine Arts. For the last twenty years, Brugel's work has been seen on both the large and small screen. She gained the most fame when she was offered the part as Rita on the award-winning TV series The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel, the only Canadian on the Season 1 actors of the series and seen only occasionally, was the sole Canadian.
